I can normally log in, but now I can't... what's wrong?
I have never been able to log in to this chat, help!

If not, you may have a slow network connection. Try downloading NeoTrace(tm) from www.neoworx.com and trace metawerx.net to see where the slow down is.
Lag problems are now being tracked automatically by the server.
When I chat at school, no one else at school can log in

Login problems
If this happens, chat could be temporarily down. Try it again a little later and if you still can't get in - leave a problem report using the FEEDBACK form on this site, include your browser type and version number.
If your machine can not run Java(tm), you will need to wait for the HTML version.

There just isn't yet! It will come soon, our plan is to allow everyone to chat easily.
When you connect, if the server says you have been banned, this can happen for two reasons.
1. You have been flooding and have been disconnected enough times to be banned (slow down)
2. You have a very slow connection and the system is saying you are flooding even when you are not (tell Shinji or slow down)
3. An administrator has banned you for being overly abusive or completely disgusting
The banning will stop after a few hours time and you will be able to log back in.
Password Problems
If someone has set a password on the name you normally use to chat either here or at the old Anime Cap II, send mail to Shinji and he will reset your password. Make sure you can prove who you are.
If you have forgotten your password, you can use the Lost Password feature to send your password by email. If you didn't keep your email address up-to-date, too bad.
Problems while chatting

If you have a very slow connection, the system might think you are flooding sometimes. Leave a FEEDBACK report to let Shinji know.
The PM window is not available in the Ultra-Lite (Netscape 3) version. If you really want this feature added, please contact Shinji and ask nicely.
If you are using Internet Explorer 3 and notice the lag is worse than it used to be, let me know.

This feeling can be caused by:
a) unnecessary depression (eat chocolate, have a Berocca)
b) chat relationship break-up (take a day off, come back and kiss someone by surprise)
c) the fact that everyone does indeed hate you. ask yourself "Why?". are you a nice person? do you insult people and hurt their feelings? do you flood when you come to chat? do you fight or cuss too much in the main room?
Click the persons name on the user list (on the right of the chat) and then click the checkbox that says [x] Ignore User, and press OK. You will no longer see any of the messages from this user. If you want to un-ignore them, do the same thing, but UNclick the box.
